Pre-Kindergarten Classroom Aide Full-time · 2026–2027 School Year · Diocese of Oakland ABOUT THE POSITION Saint Leo the Great Catholic School is seeking a dedicated, full-time Pre-Kindergarten Classroom Aide to support our pre-kindergarten program. This is a wonderful opportunity for an individual who is passionate about early childhood education and committed to helping young learners thrive in a faith-centered environment. The Classroom Aide will work closely alongside the lead pre-kindergarten teacher as an active instructional partner — supporting small-group learning, providing individualized student assistance, and helping to maintain a structured, nurturing classroom community rooted in Catholic values. RESPONSIBILITIES • Support the lead teacher in delivering daily instruction and managing classroom routines • Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce skills in literacy, math, and other subject areas • Assist with the preparation of instructional materials, classroom displays, and learning centers • Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other non-instructional periods • Monitor and document student progress and behavior as directed by the lead teacher • Communicate observations about student needs to the lead teacher and school support staff • Participate in school liturgies, events, and the broader parish community • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will have: • Prior experience working with young children in a classroom, childcare, or educational setting • A high school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is preferred • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, families, and colleagues • Patience, reliability, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with kindergarten-age children • Ability to support a structured learning environment whi

• Prior experience working with young children in a classroom, childcare, or educational setting • A high school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is preferred • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, families, and colleagues • Patience, reliability, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with kindergarten-age children • Ability to support a structured learning environment while remaining flexible and responsive to student needs • A commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education • At least 6 semester units in ECE/Child development highly preferred, and/or enrolled in an Early Childhood Development course.
