Requirements / Qualifications
B.A. in early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by a regional accreditation association recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation; *Valid California Child Development Teacher Permit or higher; and *A total of six semester units in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development to be completed within the first year of employment. Courses that meet the infant/toddler focus requirement include but are not limited to: --Infant/Toddler Growth and Development --Care and Education for Infants and Toddlers --Infant and Toddler Studies I and II --Practicum in Infant/Toddler Programs *Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications Desired but not required- Biliterate/Bilingual Spanish/Vietnamese/Cantonese-English. In lieu of application, current CSEA Chapter 356 applicants are to submit via district email to Lizeth Casanova at lcasanova@emcsd.org the following in order to be considered: *Letter of intent specifying interest in the Early Head Start Center Base PAF 1266226, along with the number of ECE units currently completed. Official transcripts must be submitted prior to the start of the assignment.
