Braille Abilities, a growing TVI/O&M owned company, is looking for a full time TVI or TVI/O&M in Central and West Los Angeles. We are looking for a self starter who is excellent with communication and documentation. Employees will be itinerant from their home offices in any of these locations and will serve students in the field daily. TVIs are expected to: · Be self-starters · Work with students with a wide variety of needs, including sensory needs · Maximize student independence · Work as part of a team · Understand the IEP process · Maintain appropriate records and data · Have excellent interpersonal skills · Individualize instruction for the needs of each student · Work with students with a wide variety of needs · Know UEB and Nemeth Code · Cover all areas of the Expanded Core Curriculum · Work as a partner with parents, staff, and coworkers · Complete Functional Vision and Learning Media Assessments
Requirements / Qualifications
California Credential as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired. Will consider applicants with ability to transfer TVI credential from out of state. Applicants who are dual certified in TVI/O&M are welcome to apply. TVI Interns are welcome and will be hired on the intern salary schedule.
