Job Summary
The Director of Human Resources will support both Certificated and Classified Personnel, with the majority of the assignment dedicated to planning, organizing, directing, and administering the Merit System as prescribed in the California Education Code and the Personnel Commission Rules and Regulations; serving as the Secretary to the District's Personnel Commission; and as a resource to other administrators, employees, applicants, the Superintendent, and the Personnel Commission; directing program operations and activities of other Personnel Commission employees and complying with established requirements. Benefits: • Health & Welfare Package: A variety of medical, dental, and vision plans are available for employees working 20 hours or more per week. The District provides up to $23,673.00 per year toward the cost of insurance. • Employee Assistance Program: The program provides confidential employee support and is 100% covered by the District. • Retirement: CalPERS pension for employees working 20 hours or more per week; additional retirement plans (403b and 457) are available to interested employees. • Sick Leave: 12 paid sick days per year • Longevity: Incentive provided to full-time management personnel with continuous service in the Castro Valley Unified School District management: 1% for 5-9 years; 2% for 10-14 years; 3% for 15+ years. • Life Insurance: $50,000 insurance policy premium paid in full by the District. • Long-Term Disability: Disability income insurance policy is paid in full by the District. • Additional $2,818.00 per year for a Master's Degree or $4,216.00 per year for a Doctorate Degree.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in job-related area. Master's degree preferred. Experience: Job-related experience within specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility is required. Experience with Merit Districts preferred.
