Job Summary

Liberty Elementary School District, a close-knit TK-8 community serving Tulare and Visalia families, seek a dedicated part-time Credentialed School Nurse to provide comprehensive health services two days per week (flexible scheduling, e.g., Tuesdays & Thursdays). The nurse will support student health, medication administration, emergency care, and special education compliance in alignment with IEPs and district wellness goals. This certificated role reports to the Superintendent or designee and collaborates with administrators, teachers, and special education staff. Key Responsibilities Conduct health assessments, vision/hearing screenings, and medication administration for TK-8 students. Develop and implement emergency action plans (EAPs), and support 504 Plans/IEPs for students with health needs (e.g., OHI, ADHD, chronic conditions). Train staff on health procedures, delegate tasks per Ed Code §49423, and maintain confidential health records (e.g., CALPADS compliance). Respond to emergencies, coordinate with local health agencies, and promote school wellness initiatives. Participate in Student Study Team (SST) meetings and staff development as needed (2 days/week commitment).

Qualifications Valid California School Nurse Services Credential (or equivalent Services Credential with health specialization) from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license and Public Health Nurse (PHN) certificate preferred. 1+ years experience in K-12 school nursing, pediatrics, or special education health services. Knowledge of California Education Code (§§49400-49465), FERPA, and health mandates (e.g., immunizations, screenings). Strong communication skills for working with diverse TK-8 students, families, and district administrators. TB test, background clearance (DOJ/FBI), and professional references required.
