School Site: Phineas Banning High School Effective Date: August 2026 The Career Technical Education (CTE) Teacher provides specialized instruction to students in grades 10–12 following District and state-approved CTE courses of study in Structural Repairs and Refinishing. Reporting to the School Principal, the instructor is responsible for delivering curriculum at a pace and level that meets specific industry sector standards for the Transportation pathway. Key responsibilities include: · Designing real-world projects and activities that challenge students and develop skills identified in the District Graduate Profile. · Monitoring student progress closely to provide timely, constructive feedback. · Establishing work-based learning experiences through professional partnerships in the career subject area. · Maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment. · Preparing students for the workforce by instructing them in resume writing, interviewing, and current industry trends.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: · Required: A high school diploma or equivalent and · Desirable: An earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. · Desirable: A professional certificate related to the Transportation industry sector. Credentials & Authorizations: · A valid California Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credential in Transportation is required. · An English Learner Authorization is required for teaching K-12 students. Knowledge & Skills: · Proficiency in one or more occupational areas and knowledge of current industry trends. · Understanding of the High-Quality CTE program elements designated by the California Department of Education. · Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and evaluate student achievement through various assessment techniques. · Strong communication skills, including the ability to use academic and industry-related language effectively.
