Job Summary

Temecula International Academy (TIA) is seeking a dynamic, student-centered educator to serve as a Special Education & Behavior Support Specialist. This dual-role position is responsible for overseeing special education compliance, service delivery, and student progress, while also supporting the development and implementation of schoolwide behavior systems. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and proactive, with a strong understanding of both special education requirements and effective, restorative approaches to student behavior. This individual will serve as a key liaison between teachers, families, and administration to ensure students are supported both academically and behaviorally.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience: Valid California Education Specialist Credential (required) English Learner Authorization (required) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required) Administrative Services Credential or eligibility (preferred, but not required) Experience working with TK–8 students in a school setting (preferred) Valid California Driver’s License

Skills & Competencies: ? Strong knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance requirements ? Experience with MTSS frameworks, tiered interventions, and progress monitoring ? Skilled in restorative practices, conflict resolution, and behavior intervention strategies ? Ability to analyze academic and behavioral data to inform decision-making and improve student outcomes ? Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines and compliance requirements ? Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, families, and service providers ? Ability to coach and support adult learners, including teachers and paraprofessionals ? Student-centered mindset with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and whole-child development ? Ability to remain calm, solution-oriented, and flexible in a fast-paced school environment
