Requirements / Qualifications

These anticipated vacancies are for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. The number of positions may change depending on student enrollment and staffing decisions. Under direction of the Deputy Superintendent, the School Social Worker assesses and identifies home, school, personal, and community factors that may affect a student's learning and general wellbeing; consults with teacher’s administrators and other faculty/staff and parents regarding effective strategies for dealing with problems related to social emotional and academic needs; identifies and provides interventions for students and families that will assist in creating a positive learning environment; develops resiliency strategies, programs and services that nurture a positive development and assist the student to bond with the school community; collaborates with school teams including counseling, student services, multi-tiered system of support and intervention and with community-based organizations to support student success. This position requires subject matter expertise and leadership in the areas of school-wide prevention and intervention strategies, school-based counseling, and professional development. The position will provide advocacy for the academic achievement and social development of all students and provide consultation, training, and staff development to teachers and parents regarding students’ needs.

Interviews may take immediately until the position is filled. This position requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Social Work, and the ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English. The ability to read, write, and speak Spanish is strongly preferred, but not required.
