Job Summary

The Middle College Mental Health Therapist temporary position (.8 FTE) for the Fall 2026 semester only, offers a unique opportunity to support 11th and 12th-grade students in a small, supportive, and therapeutic learning environment located at the College of San Mateo. This temporary role serves students enrolled in the San Mateo Union High School District who are participating in the Middle College Program while also taking dual enrollment courses at CSM. In this role, you will foster continuity of care, build meaningful relationships with students, and support their emotional and mental well-being. Responsibilities include providing individual and group counseling, facilitating student workshops, managing cases, and collaborating with families, educators, and outside providers. While working closely with a dedicated on-site team, you will also engage with district mental health therapists, allowing for ongoing collaboration and shared expertise. This position is ideal for a professional passionate about supporting the whole student and contributing to both their academic and personal success within a dynamic, short-term placement.

Requirements / Qualifications

> Cover Letter > Resume > Master’s Degree or higher in counseling, psychology, clinical social work, or a closely related field > At least one of the following: - Valid Marriage Family Therapist (MFT) or Intern with BBS number (MFTI) - Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Intern with BBS number (CSWI) > Bilingual Spanish speaking is preferred.
