Job Summary
Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director-Student Services, the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) may provide assessments, direct services, and support for students in both general and special education settings. While all SLPs share core responsibilities, individual assignments may emphasize different aspects, such as assessment, intervention, or MTSS support. The Speech and Language Pathologist may participate as a member of the educational team that assesses student performance in the areas of disability, develops assessment reports, identifies student abilities within educational, developmental, or functional parameters, and develops goals and objectives for consideration in the individualized education program (IEP) team meeting. The SLP will also maintain appropriate documentation and reports. Employees may also assist in the development of MTSS within the Independent Study School educational model and interpret assessment results. An employee may be required to travel to regional areas to assess students. The work location for this position is designated by the supervisor and the job description to include in-person and virtual settings as needed by the School.
