Job Summary
The job of Custodian I/School Bus Driver works under the direction of the MOT Director for the purpose/s of maintaining an attractive, sanitary and safe facility; providing adequate arrangements for meetings, classroom activities and events; and minimizing property damage, loss and liability exposure. As a bus driver, the position is done for the purpose of transporting students over scheduled routes and/or special excursions; enforcing rules, regulations, and laws to maintain safety during transport; ensuring the vehicle is in a safe operating condition; and ensuring safety of students during transport, loading and unloading from buses.
Requirements / Qualifications
•Prior job-related experience in school or institutional setting; •Ability to: Carry out oral and written directions; work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work; clean school facilities; and to assist other personnel as may be required; •Pre-employment physical; •Obtain and maintain a Valid California School Bus Driver's License to be eligible to receive a one-time stipend of $2,000 (paid monthly); •Salary: For Custodian I Duties (Step placement dependent upon like experience) - Range 5 ($18.73-$20.76 per hour ). After obtaining a Valid California School Bus Driver's License and being called upon to drive, the employee may be paid at Range 18.
