About the Employer
We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides ready access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites and the Pacific Ocean. Antioch is known as the “Gateway to the Delta” and is one of California’s oldest cities, with a diverse community of approximately 100,000. The Antioch Unified School District is a Merit System District. As such, final selection of our classified staff members will be made from candidates who have been placed on an eligibility list. Eligibility is determined via an evaluation and competitive screening/scoring of a candidate’s training and experience as demonstrated on the application and responses provided in the supplemental questions.

BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Superintendent, plan, organize, control and direct District-wide Business Services and Operations activities including accounting, budget, information technology, nutrition service, purchasing, risk management, custodial, transportation, facility planning, maintenance and repair functions; coordinate and direct communications, information, strategic planning, personnel and resources to meet District needs and assure smooth and efficient Division activities; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.

UNIT: AMA- Senior Management HOURS/WORK YEAR: 8 Hours Day / 12 Months YEARLY SALARY RANGE: $271,908 (Min- Step 1) to $307,639 (Max.- Step 6) APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO WEDNESDAY, MAY 13, 2026. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field and a combination of eight years working in business, fiscal planning and operations and activities in an educational or related setting including five years in an administrative capacity. Experience in the educational field desired. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California driver’s license. *Certificate of completion in a Chief Business Officer program or equivalent from an accredited university is required. *Pending Personnel Commission approval SELECTION & EXAMINATIONS: The selection process will consist of a competitive application packet screening for completeness, qualifications, and experience. An oral panel interview examination (weighted 100% of your score) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on the oral panel interview examination. Interviews are expected to be held the week of May 18, 2026.
