Candidates will work in a progressive, innovative charter school community with grades TK-8. Successful applicants will have experience providing SLP services in a TK-8 setting, writing assessment reports, IEP goals and serving as case managers. The ideal candidate will also have experience utilizing current assistive technology, and facilitating student use of technology in the classroom.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Assessing students for speech-language services under the guidelines for special education services
- Writing assessment reports and IEP goals in the area of speech and language
- Scheduling and running IEP meetings for students who have speech-only IEPs
- Participating in IEP meetings as a member of a team
- Participating in planning and consultation with classroom teachers
- Participating in weekly SPED team meetings
- Willingness to work in a school environment that supports full-inclusion of all students
- Supporting parent education about speech and language development in K-8 students

Candidates need to be a CA certified Speech Language Pathologist for grades TK-8. This position includes working with students with mild-severe disorders in the areas of articulation, childhood apraxia of speech, language development/disorders, autism, fluency, AAC/Assistive Technology, and varying degrees of social communication difficulties. Candidates should be experienced working with behavioral/social pragmatic challenges as well as providing pull out and inclusion based therapy. Familiarity with Assistive Technology and facilitating student use in classroom a plus.
The SLP will work closely with the special education team in a collaborative, teams based approach.
