Ocean View School District is excited to announce that the Spanish Dual Language Immersion program is rapidly expanding and is looking for a Teacher on Special Assignment to support the program. The DLI program operates at Harbour View Elementary (K-5), Golden View Elementary (K, 1st grade starting 26-27), and Mesa View Middle School (6th, 7th starting 26-27).

Requirements / Qualifications

Basic Functions: Under the supervision of the Director, Teaching and Learning in coordination with the assigned Principal, the Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) - Spanish Dual Language Immersion (DLI) will coordinate and assist with the implementation of the DLI Program. The DLI TOSA will support and coach DLI teachers to implement effective instruction aligned with California State Standards and District-adopted curriculum, signature practices, and assessments. The DLI TOSA will provide expertise in DLI educational practices and deliver professional development grounded in research-based instructional strategies to promote language acquisition and grade-level mastery. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education Required: • Valid California Multiple Subject or Single Subject Teaching Credential • BCLAD, Single Subject Credential in Spanish, or Bilingual Authorization in Spanish, required • English Learners Authorization or equivalent

Experience: • Five years of consecutive successful classroom teacher experience, required • Preferably in a DLI classroom • Knowledge of and experience with EL and DLI programs • Training in bilingual curriculum and instruction

Interview Process: • The Spanish Dual Language Immersion Teacher interview process will consist of three components: a writing sample, a recorded mini lesson plan, and an in-person interview. After the closing of the posting, an email with the writing prompt and mini-lesson plan information will be sent to the selected candidates. • The writing sample and mini lesson plan will be reviewed before the interview. • In-person interview scheduled for Friday, June 5 morning
