Global Education Academy (GEA) is a high performing inner city school dedicated to closing the achievement gap. With small class sizes and a robust intervention program, students at GEA are performing better than peers in similar neighborhood schools. The applicant should be a team player capable of working with administration, teachers, interventions teachers, and staff to organize a multi-faceted special education and intervention program that meets needs of all students with academic difficulties. The applicant will be a positive self-starter who is caring and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that all students are learning. Creativity in dealing with difficult situations and problems is a must. We are looking for applicants who are genuinely concerned about student learning and believe that the school has the ultimate responsibility for student learning. GEA offers a foreign language program in Korean and Spanish. GEA has a small but dedicated staff that produces strong results. Global Education Academy's goal is to develop citizens of the world who are successful leaders not only in their local communities, but in the international community as well. Global Education Academy will provide students with a wide variety of linguistic and cultural experiences that give students the opportunity to develop a true understanding and respect for all people. Through a balanced curriculum that addresses academic, linguistic, social, physical, and emotional development, students will close the achievement gap.
