Job Summary
The Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments provides specialized instruction and support to students who are blind or visually impaired. This role focuses on ensuring access to the general education curriculum, developing compensatory skills, and promoting independence. The VI Teacher collaborates with educators, families, and related service providers to meet the unique educational needs of each student.
Requirements / Qualifications
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in VI Education, Special Education, or a related field · Valid teaching credential in Visual Impairments (TVI certification or eligibility required) · Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired preferred · Knowledge of braille and tactile learning strategies · Understanding of visual impairments and their impact on learning · Strong collaboration and communication skills · Ability to adapt materials and integrate assistive technology · CPR / First Aid certification required or willingness to enroll in program
