Job Summary
The Biomedical Pathway Teacher provides rigorous, hands-on instruction aligned to the Health Science and Medical Technology (HSMT) Career Technical Education standards and the district’s Biomedical pathway sequence, including Biomed I and Biomed Capstone. This position integrates applied science, human anatomy and physiology, pathology, medical terminology, laboratory science, and professional healthcare practices to prepare students for postsecondary education and careers in biomedical and healthcare fields. The teacher fosters a patient-centered, inquiry-based learning environment that emphasizes safety, professionalism, ethical practice, and career readiness.
Requirements / Qualifications
· Valid California Teaching Credential in one of the following: o Designated Subjects Career Technical Education (CTE) Credential in Health Science & Medical Technology OR o Eligibility for a CTE Credential (willingness to enroll in an approved CTE credential program) · Bachelor’s degree; Biology, or, Human Anatomy and Physiology, or Healthcare. · Single Subject: Biology and willingness to pursue a CTE Credential · Prior experience teaching Biomedical Science, Health Science, or CTE courses · Industry experience in healthcare, biomedical research, clinical practice, or allied health · CPR / First Aid certification required or willingness to enroll in program; CPR Certified Instructor preferred
