Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Math Teacher to join our faculty at Christ Church Day School in Coronado, CA. This role involves teaching math to 6th through 8th grade students while also serving as an advisor, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, inquiry-based learning environment and build meaningful relationships with students to support their overall development. The middle school teacher will engage students to reason, create, serve, and lead in a nurturing, inclusive Episcopal learning community. The teacher will be responsible for supporting students in a quality learning environment which meets the developmental and individual needs of students and encourages their full potential. To develop that potential, we believe students should become lifelong learners and should acquire a strong foundation of Christian ethics. The teacher will possess or demonstrate the following: a growth-mindset, emotional intelligence, self-motivation, positive energy, strong interpersonal skills, a service-oriented and team approach to work, approachability, adaptability, vulnerability, openness to new and divergent ideas, excellent oral and written communication skills, and comfort in an educational setting where children and adults are present. Full and part-time employment is available depending on the candidate's profile. We are a very small JK-8th grade community with a total enrollment of 140 students. www.ccds.org

Requirements / Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Math, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred). - Teaching credential or equivalent experience in middle school education. - Experience teaching middle school math, with a strong understanding of adolescent development. - Passion for hands-on, inquiry-based instruction. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
