Black Oak Speech Therapy, Inc. provides speech, language, reading, and feeding services to children with a wide range of needs using a collaborative approach and evidence-based practices. This independently-owned practice was established in 2017 and provides evaluations and therapy throughout the El Dorado County and greater Sacramento areas. We also provide private individual and group therapy to individuals in our clinic setting, in their home, virtually, and in various school settings. Our therapists have been trained in a variety of techniques for assessment and therapy, such as: Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding, research-based literacy instruction, PROMPT therapy (level 2), Augmentative Alternative Communication assessment/therapy, and more. Title:                Speech Language Pathologist

Salary Range: Competitive- Dependent on experience (starting at $58/hour)

This local, independently-owned practice was established in 2017 and provides speech, language, feeding,literacy, AAC, and AT servicesthroughout schools in the greater Sacramento area and foothills. We also provide private individual and group therapy to individuals in their home or school settings. Our therapists have been trained in a variety of cutting edge techniques for assessment and therapy, such as: Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding, research-based literacy instruction, extensive fluency assessment and therapy methods, PROMPT therapy (level 2), AT/AAC specialist trainings, and more. We are currently seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Clinical Fellow to join our team on a part-time or full-time basis, with flexible scheduling. Our team works together as a whole to use children's strengths to support their needs. We are excited to find someone to join our team.

 

SLP Job Responsibilities:

  •        Executing specific components of a speech and language program (i.e. treatment planning, therapy, consultation, collaboration, device programming, etc.), as specified in treatment plans  
  •        Document client performance, including: daily therapy notes, progress notes, IEPs/IFSPs, transition plans, and annual/triennial reports
  •        Complete observations, screenings, and assessments of clients, with interpretation and documentation to determine treatment planning
  •        Assist with departmental operations (scheduling, record-keeping, safety/maintenance of supplies, billing, and equipment)  
  •        Support the Lead SLP in research projects, in-service training, public relations programs, and marketing programs  
  •        Oversee therapy planning for direct therapy session and work with SLPAs to make modifications to therapy plans (dependent upon site)
  •       Attend IEP meetings to report on students' progress and review goals/service recommendations
  •        Collaborate with teachers, paraeducators, OTs, PTs, BCBAs, etc. to assist in implementation of speech/language/social curriculum and students' IEP goals
  •        Maintenance of continuing education credits and documentation of certificates as outlined by California State Speech Language Pathology & Hearing Aid Dispensers Board and the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
  •        Assist with clerical duties (i.e. filing, therapy preparation, etc.) 

 

Employee shall perform such other duties as are customarily performed by other persons in similar positions, including other duties as may arise from time to time and as may be assigned.

 

 

Requirements / Qualifications

Essential Requirements for SLPs: CA state Speech-Language Pathologist or Clinical Fellow active licensure required ASHA CCCs (Preferred) Experience with Autism (2+ years preferred) Experience with SEIS online IEP system and Google Drive (preferred, but not necessary) After date of hire, employees will be provided with additional trainings for their unique position For AAC/AT specialist candidates, additional training/experience required (2+ years preferred)
