SDCOE is currently recruiting to fill a vacancy for a District Advisor, Multilingual Education and Global Achievement (MEGA) in the Multilingual Education and Global Achievement (MEGA) department of the Learning and Leadership Services division. The job of District Advisor, Multilingual Education and Global Achievement (MEGA) is done for the purpose of directing assigned programs and services for academic achievement; providing information and serving as a resource to others; achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing, and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines; and serving as a member of the leadership team. This vacancy has a specific focus on Multilingual Pathways. The District Advisor in this role will: • Assist in the design, implementation, refinement, and expansion of a wide variety of multilingual program models and options — including but not limited to one-way developmental bilingual, dual language immersion, heritage and world language programs, and FLEX and FLES programs — tailored to our local context and demographics. • Provide guidance and support in developing and enhancing bilingual and/or biliterate instructional plans, assessment tools, accountability measures, and systems. • Develop evidence-based, comprehensive LEA guidance and resources to promote effective multiliteracy program models and options. • Infuse multilingualism as a value and a presence throughout SDCOE's projects and initiatives, frameworks, and support systems. *** Bilingual and biliterate skills are required for this vacancy. *** Bilingual Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development (BCLAD) certification is preferred.

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires the following Education and Experience and Certificates, Licenses, and Credentials:
 
Education and Experience:
Education:   A Master's degree in education, education administration, or other closely related field.; and,
Experience: At least four (4) years of experience as a coordinator, director, and/or principal in an educational setting, with demonstrated experience in educational research, program evaluation, measurement, and assessment.

Equivalency: A combination of education and experience equivalent to a master's degree in education, education administration, or other closely related field and at least four (4) years of experience as a coordinator, director, and/or principal in an educational setting, with demonstrated experience in educational research, program evaluation, measurement, and assessment.
 
Certificates, Licenses, and Credentials:
  • Valid California Administrative Services Credential
  • Valid California Teaching Credential
