We manage alternative education programs for students at Calaveras River Academy, Mountain Oaks Charter School (an Independent Study program), and Oakendell Community School. We also offer adult education services, and a variety of special education services as the Responsible Local Agency (“RLA”) for the Special Education Local Plan Area (“SELPA”); including, five special education preschool programs and a program for transition-aged young adults (ages 18-22). Job Summary
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the SELPA Director or designee, works independently under broad organizational guidelines to achieve SELPA objectives; may provide training and supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) with proper certification. The Program Specialist - SELPA will facilitate and coordinate services to individuals with exceptional needs; assist District’s in evaluating the effectiveness of programs for individuals with exceptional needs; provide information and serve as a resource to support staff, teachers, classified staff, and administrators; and develop and assist with the implementation of policies and procedures related to special education at the County and District level. Anticipated Needs for 2025-2026 School Year: The Program Specialist will oversee educational programming for students participating in a SELPA regionalized class or SELPA-administered program (i.e. Transition Program) and provide specialized academic instruction, behavioral and social intervention, and special education case management services to identified students within a variety of settings based on overall student enrollment and regionalized programmatic needs (TK-Age 22).
