Job Summary
Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, provide tutoring and/or homework assistance, offer an array of academic enrichment activities, and organize safe, constructive alternatives for students. Tutors work responsibly to perform a variety of instructional services and clerical support activities within a well-defined framework of policies, procedures and objectives; and do other related work as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
Expanded Learning Tutor I = no degree; II = AA or AS degree; III = BA or BS degree. Equivalent to graduation from high school and/or any combination of experience and training to provide the required knowledge and skill. An AA degree, or 2 years equivalence of acceptable college coursework, or successful passage of an acceptable rigorous assessment is highly preferred. Must pass an Instructional Assistant Proficiency Test with a score of 70% or higher in the areas of Math, Reading and Writing, or provide High School Proficiency verification; Possess a valid California driver license and maintain insurability. Must be able to provide your own reliable transportation to work sites within Kings County. The hours for this position are 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work location to be determined. This position will begin in August, 2026.
