Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher - Valid California Mild/Moderate Special Education Teaching Credential with CLAD authorization - Teaching experience at various grade levels and with special needs students - Knowledge of the IDEA and CA Special Education laws - Knowledge of the IEP and identification process - Experience in writing IEPs - Knowledge of inclusion system - Knowledge of California State Standards/Common Core, curriculum, and education code - Knowledge of subject area and instructional methodologies/techniques, English Language Development, and computer technology - Awareness of LAUSD Special Education procedures and policies - Knowledge of Welligent and/or SEIS and District Validation Review components

Global Education Academy (GEA) is a high performing inner city school dedicated to closing the achievement gap. With small class sizes and a robust intervention program, students at GEA are performing better than peers in similar neighborhood schools. The applicant should be a team player capable of working with administration, teachers, interventions teachers, and staff to organize a multi-faceted special education and intervention program that meets needs of all students with academic difficulties. The applicant will be a positive self-starter who is caring and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that all students are learning. Creativity in dealing with difficult situations and problems is a must. We are looking for applicants who are genuinely concerned about student learning and believe that the school has the ultimate responsibility for student learning.
Applicant will be working with another RSP Teacher and RSP Aide with support from a Case Manager along with the Principal and Assistant Principal.
