About Global Education Academy Middle School

Global Education Academy serves an area of need in the District where schools are impacted by large class size and low academic state rankings. Duties and Responsibilities

The Counselor will perform the duties necessary to meet the direct service needs of students and perform the duties necessary to meet the case management needs of students in a school setting.

- Implement and monitor behavior support plans as required by students for educational success

- Prepare required student forms and maintains accurate student academic records, attendance records, and cumulative student progress and achievement records and reports

- Track progress towards goals and inform parents, teachers, and principal concerning progress toward goals

- Knowledge of California State Standards/Common Core, curriculum, and education code

- Knowledge of subject area and instructional methodologies/techniques, English Language Development, and computer technology

- Awareness of LAUSD Special Education procedures and policies
