Job Summary
Golden Eagle Charter School is seeking a dedicated Academic Counselor to support students in grades 8–12 in planning for graduation and postsecondary success. This role focuses on guiding students toward college, career, and training pathways within a flexible, student-centered learning model that includes independent study, in-person and online courses, dual enrollment, and career technical education. The Academic Counselor serves as a specialist in graduation requirements and postsecondary planning—working closely with Educational Facilitators, Program Managers, students, and families. While Educational Facilitators maintain primary responsibility for ongoing student progress, the Academic Counselor provides expertise, guidance, and final verification of graduation readiness. This position requires regular travel between school sites within Siskiyou County.
Requirements / Qualifications
Letter of Intent Resume 3 current letters of reference Bachelor’s Degree required. Valid California Teaching Credential or Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential preferred. Experience in academic counseling, college advising, or related field preferred. Knowledge of college admissions, financial aid, and career pathways. Ability to travel between school sites or community locations as needed to fulfill job responsibilities. Reliable transportation required. Regular travel within the county is expected. TB and fingerprint clearance as required by law. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
