Requirements / Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: * Minimum of High School diploma or G.E.D. with at least 2-3 years of experience equivalent training and experience to sufficiently demonstrate the knowledge and perform the abilities listed in job description. * Knowledge and training of school meal patterns required. * Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures to adequately complete necessary paperwork. * Experience in food service or customer service Must possess: A valid Food Safety or Food Protection Manager Certification accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) maintained throughout employment with the LEA. Examples of accredited food protection manager certifications include: * ServSafe Food Protection Manager; * State Food Safety Manager (FSM); * Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP); * Certified Professional – Food Safety (CP-FS); * Food Protection Manager (FPM)

The Nutrition Assistant II will prepare, cook or bake a variety of breads, pastries, desserts, meats, vegetables, sauces and other foods in quantity; assist in the overall operation and maintenance of the kitchen and cafeteria; may operate a Snack Bar, “Combo-Line”, or satellite kitchen; and to do related work as may be required.
