Job Summary St. Albans Country Day School is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Day Care Aide to support students in Pre-K through 8th grade. This position is an extension of the school day and plays an important role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment aligned with the school’s mission of developing both character and intellect. The ideal candidate is someone who: • Enjoys working with children across a wide age range • Demonstrates patience, kindness, and flexibility • Is proactive, attentive, and safety-minded • Builds positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues • Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team • Supports student growth through encouragement, consistency, and care • Monday–Friday, 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Responsibilities • Supervise students during lunch, recess, and after-school care • Support free play, structured activities, and enrichment • Provide homework support for an assigned grade level of students, encouraging responsibility and independence • Promote positive student behavior • Help prepare snacks • Escort students to on-campus activities • Track daily attendance using a computer system • Communicate effectively with Day Care Supervisor Minimum Qualifications • High school diploma • 12 ECE units required • Experience working with children preferred • Strong communication and teamwork skills
