Under the direction of the Director of Special Education, the Program Specialist is responsible for supporting and improving outcomes for students with disabilities. This position will provide coordination, consultation, and program development for the district’s Special Education Program. Additionally, the Program Specialist will offer technical assistance, training, and support to school staff in implementing special education support and services for students with disabilities. The person in this role may also serve as an educational specialist as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field (Master's degree preferred) - A valid California Education Specialist Credential, School Psychologist Credential, or Speech & Language Pathology Credential - Advanced training in educating individuals with exceptional needs, including specialized knowledge in autism, emotional disabilities, mental health services, or moderate-severe disabilities.
