Our leadership team includes professionals with firsthand experience in special education classrooms, and we understand the realities new teachers face during their first year. Our internal clinical and education support team works closely with you and your site leadership to ensure a smooth, supported transition from graduate school to classroom teaching. Support for New Graduate SDC Teachers New graduate teachers receive structured first-year support, including: • Ongoing guidance from VerbaCare’s internal clinical and education team • Collaboration with site administrators and special education teams • Support with classroom setup, routines, and role clarity • Assistance with IEP implementation and documentation systems such as SEIS or Welligent • Regular check-ins to ensure placements remain appropriate and manageable School Settings and Student Populations Placements are thoughtfully matched based on your training, interests, and district needs and may include: • Preschool or Early Childhood SDC • Elementary School SDC • Middle School SDC • High School or Transition SDC • Students with Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe support needs What You Will Do • Serve as the Special Day Class teacher of record • Implement IEP goals and provide individualized instruction • Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrators • Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment • Develop professionally with mentorship and ongoing support Position Details • Start Date: August 2026 • Work Year: 180–190 school days • Position Type: Full-Time • Pay Rate: $72–$75 per hour (W-2)

VerbaCare Inc
is seeking dedicated Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), including Clinical Fellows (CFYs), to provide comprehensive school-based speech therapy services across San Jose, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, and Santa Clara County. Join our team to make a meaningful impact on students' communication skills in public and charter school settings. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Speech-Language Assessments & Evaluations: Conduct screenings, assessments, and diagnostic evaluations for K–12 students with speech and language disorders.
  • Individualized Education Program (IEP) Development: Develop, write, and implement IEP goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Therapy Services: Provide direct therapy services, including articulation therapy, language intervention, fluency therapy, voice therapy, and social communication support.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with special educators, general education teachers, school psychologists, and families to support student progress.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and evaluation reports using SEIS, SIRAS, or district-specific software.
  • Professional Development: Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
  • Licensure: Valid California Speech-Language Pathology License or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • Experience: Previous experience in school-based settings preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
