Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid and appropriate California Driver's License - One (1) year of verifiable experience working with school age children - High School Diploma or equivalent. - Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology or a related field (must possess or obtain a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Certificate within 10 months of employment) OR Possession of a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Certificate
Under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, the law requires that paraprofessionals who assist in classroom instruction must meet the specific educational requirements listed above. Proof of certificates, education, etc., will be required upon recommendation for employment.
