Job Summary

Job Summary

The Mental Health Counselor provides direct mental health and ERMHS counseling services to students in support of their social-emotional well-being goals and academic success. This role delivers informal assessment, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention services. The Counselor conducts mental health screening, supports early identification of student needs, and provides consultation to families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams. The Mental Health Counselor builds consistent, trusting relationships with students and families, promotes trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices, and collaborates with school teams to deliver coordinated, student-centered mental health supports aligned with school policies and personalized learning procedures. The incumbent is expected to remain calm under pressure, work cooperatively with team members and others to provide the highest level of service possible and work in accordance with the Guiding Principles of the organization.

- Education: Master’s degree in Counseling or a related field - Credentials/Certifications: Current LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC preferred. Also accepted: current Pupil Personnel Services Credential or associate-level license (AMFT, ACSW, APCC) - Experience: Three (3) years of experience working with children and adolescents, and knowledge of child and adolescent mental health and academic guidance.
