The Pajaro Valley Unified School District annually hires coaches to prepare athletes for competition.
Coaches have responsibility for:
a. teaching sports techniques, playing rules, strategies and playing tactics;
b. conditioning athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength and agility;
c. supervising and conducting practices and contests safely; supervising locker rooms and buses;
d. teaching sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one's team;
e. monitoring athletes' school attendance, grades and personal conduct; collaborating with school staff
f. responding to player injuries with approved first aid techniques;
g. managing uniforms, equipment, and school facilities in a responsible manner; completing field trip paperwork
h. provide coverage for absence of coaches.

Watsonville High School is accepting applications for Head Varsity Baseball Coach to work at for the 2026-2027 school year (February 2nd– May 25th). The Head Coach will work with the Athletic Director, School Staff and Administration in support of our belief in the importance of the strong link between academics and athletics. . A chief objective is to hire an individual who will make the school a home and provide stability and cohesion of the programs. Please contract elaine_parker@pvusd.net with any inquires.
