THE POSITION: The Coordinator I, Young GENIUSes & Families shall provide leadership as well as technical, specialized, consultative, advisory, and planning services to LACOE staff and delegate agencies in the areas of teaching and learning related goals with the aim of increasing the number of students enrolled in early learning programs and targeted support to their families. The Coordinator I, will plan, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate programs and services focused on providing differentiated support, that increases outcomes for early learning students, both in delegate agencies and within LACOE. This position will coordinate and align support with the LACOE Wellbeing and Support Services. The Coordinator I, will provide professional development, on-site technical assistance, and guidance to ensure balanced policies and practices.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Experience: Five or more years of comprehensive, directly related, and progressive educational administration experience making progress in closing achievement gaps and reducing suspensions and expulsions for all learners. Including three years of professional development experience with school improvement or a closely related field. Education: A Master’s degree in education, social work, counseling or a closely related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation. Equivalent to a Master’s degree in education or a closely related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE: • Possess a and maintain a valid California teaching credential or Pupil Personnel Services Credential. • Possess and maintain a valid California Administrative Services Credential or Certificate of Eligibility.
