Job Summary

Job Summary

The Cheer Coach is responsible for the overall supervision, instruction, and guidance of the team. This role involves developing athletes' skills, promoting sportsmanship, and ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of all team members. The Coach will design and implement effective training programs, organize practice sessions, and lead the team in competitions, fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. The Coach will also work with students, teachers, and the athletic director to evaluate student eligibility for the program. Applicant must have a sound philosophy of educational leadership based on strong character and decision making ability supported by sound judgement.

Requirements / Qualifications

Must posses a High School Diploma or equivalent Candidates must be able to pass a background check, clear a TB screening, and have a valid CA driver's license. Candidates will also be required to complete CIF Coach Trainings. First Aid, CPR and AED NFHS or ASEP Coaching Certificate, Concussion in Sports, Sudden Cardiac and Heat Illness Certifications

Experience with high school and/or higher level of coaching experience in the sport including knowledge of coaching techniques, rules and regulations. A demonstrated ability to engage in positive relationships between student athletes, coaches and parents. A demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model for student-athletes and a commitment to holding all adults associated with the program to that same standard. Engage in experiences that allow for student-athletes to develop and demonstrate leadership skills. Engage in learning and skill development that supports all student-athletes in fulfilling their potential. A demonstrated ability to follow chain of command, instructions and directions as directed by school administrators. Experience in cooperative working relationships with parents and athletic booster clubs. Knowledge of and commitment to comply with the CIF Code of ethical Conduct for Athletic team coaches. A demonstrated ability to meet timelines and time requirements as directed by the administration.
