Job Summary
Under the supervision of the site administrator, teacher will provide high-quality VAPA (Visual and Performing Arts) instruction to 6th-8th grade students at Elevate School, a high-performing, California Distinguished School and National Blue Ribbon School. Play a pivotal role in the development of each individual child and contributes to creating a well-organized, highly effective school environment. Approach the teaching role with an entrepreneurial spirit, embracing creativity, leadership, innovation, technology and the practice of Steven Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Establish an effective rapport with parents, other staff members, and students to provide a solid foundation for students to participate in the school program and to meet or exceed the California Common Core State Standards, each according to their ability. Supervise instructional aides, student teachers, other paraprofessionals, and parent volunteers when applicable. ** This is a part time position (0.5 FTE). Candidates with other strong skills sets/credentials/authorizations, may be considered for additional roles/responsibilities.
Requirements / Qualifications
** Must have valid California, Single Subject Art credential or a Multiple-subject credential and Supplementary Authorization in Art or Introductory Subject Matter Authorization in Art.
