Poway High School is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach opening. The position may include a teaching position in Poway Unified School District depending on credentials held and the availability of staffing needs. A separate application for a teaching position (eligibility pool) is necessary.

Requirements/Qualifications: • Letter of Interest. • Resume. • Coaching Staff Plan of expectations and responsibilities. • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation, signed/dated withing the past 12 months. Required Qualifications: • 3 years minimum experience in coaching basketball at the secondary and/or collegiate level. • The ability to meet all PUSD standards for hire including, but no limited to Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance, tuberculosis clearing, and valid CIF coaching certificates including CPR/First Aid, Concussion in sports, Fundamentals in Coaching, Heat Illness, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest How to Apply: Candidates interested in this coaching position should submit the required documents to Cynthia Lewis, Assistant Principal, Poway High School, at cylewis@powayusd.com Candidates interested in a teaching position, should submit their application to the applicable 2026-2027 school year eligibility pool.
