Job Summary
A music teacher is responsible for planning and conducting music lessons that align with educational standards, fostering musical skills and appreciation in students. They teach a variety of musical concepts, including theory, history, and performance techniques for different instruments and vocal styles. Music teachers manage classroom activities, provide individual and group instruction, and prepare students for performances and recitals. They assess and evaluate student progress, offer constructive feedback, and maintain a positive and organized learning environment. Additionally, they manage and care for musical instruments and resources, stay updated on new teaching methods and music trends through professional development, and collaborate with other educators to integrate music into broader educational contexts, inspiring students to develop their musical talents and passion. This position will work at various locations throughout the district.
