Under the direction of the High School Facilities Supervisor or site administrator, the Utility II (Lead) – High School Custodial/Security position performs advanced custodial and campus security duties at River Islands High School and may serve as a lead worker when assigned. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. In addition to performing all Utility I duties, the Utility II (Lead) provides guidance and support to Utility I staff, assists in coordinating daily operations, and supports oversight of custodial and security functions. The position plays a key role in setting up and managing school functions, athletic events, and community use activities, including ensuring proper facility setup, safety measures, and campus supervision during high-attendance events. The Utility II (Lead) conducts campus security patrols, monitors alarms, responds to incidents and emergencies, and assists with safety reporting and documentation. This role also performs minor maintenance tasks, supports training of staff, and helps ensure compliance with district policies, safety standards, and Cal/OSHA regulations. The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and events as needed, while promoting a safe, professional, and well-managed campus environment.
