The Academy of the Arts is seeking an exceptional middle school teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year. Key Responsibilities • Design and facilitate rich, inquiry-based learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration • Cultivate a classroom environment grounded in respect, intellectual curiosity, and academic rigor • Develop interdisciplinary curriculum that connects learning to real-world contexts and global perspectives. • Maintain high expectations for both academic achievement and social-emotional growth • Use ongoing assessment to inform instruction and respond to individual student needs • Build strong, authentic partnerships with families through clear and consistent communication • Collaborate closely with colleagues in curriculum design, student support, and school initiatives • Engage in continuous professional growth through coaching, reflection, and professional learning communities • Support students as developing writers through modeling, feedback, and mentorship • Foster student voice and agency through discussion-based learning, Socratic dialogue, and democratic classroom practices Qualifications • Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential or Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (required) • Experience teaching or stron
