The Mission Preparatory School, a TK-8, college-preparatory, tuition-free, public charter school in San Francisco’s Mission District, is accepting applications for Director of Organizational Strategy & Operations for the 2026-27 school year. The Mission Preparatory School (Mission Prep) is a high-performing, single site, TK–8 public charter school in San Francisco’s Mission District, serving nearly 500 students. Requirements / Qualifications
Required: Minimum 5–7 years of progressive Leadership and Management experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role; school or nonprofit experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Economics, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Proven success managing complex operational systems or organizational infrastructure. Experience supervising teams and leading cross-functional collaboration. Demonstrated experience overseeing or partnering closely with human resources functions, including hiring, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. Strong organizational, systems thinking, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a dynamic school environment. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Commitment to equitable, high-quality education and community impact. Demonstrated experience with HRIS systems (Paycom experience highly desirable). Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices. High emotional intelligence, professional discretion, and a solutions-oriented approach. Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish) Urban teaching experience Appropriate CA teaching credential or verified enrollment in teacher credentialing program Administrative Credential Master’s degree or PHR/SPHR , SHRM-CP, SHRM-SP certification Knowledge of California employment law, charter school compliance, and operational regulations. Experience working in charter schools, education organizations, or mission-driven nonprofits.

This position is 1.0 FTE (full-time exempt) and follows a 12-month work year with significant student-free days for professional learning and collaboration with colleagues and interaction with families through nightly events, overnight field trips, and weekend activities are required.
Schedule: 7:30A - 4:30PM (TBD)
Salary and Compensation:
Salary scales are based on years of experience and expertise. Scales are competitive with other charter school organizations and local districts.
Salary base: $106,977.00 - $196,926.11 per year
