Job Summary

Full-time Second Grade Teacher position reporting to the Principal. Required Qualifications: Valid California Teacher Credential and must be a practicing Catholic committed to Catholic education and the school's mission. Instructional Expertise: Deliver high-quality instruction in all core subjects (Religion, reading, writing, language arts, math, and social studies) using California Common Core, State, and Diocesan standards. Expertise in current best practices, including differentiation of instruction, theory of multiple intelligences, and implementing a differentiated guided reading program is essential. (3+ years of teaching experience is preferred). Faith Formation: Responsibility for preparing students for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist, coordinating with the parish Faith Formation group. Professionalism and Collaboration: Maintain a positive classroom environment through strong classroom management, uphold high expectations for student achievement, and utilize assessment data to guide instructional decisions. Must effectively communicate and collaborate with students, parents (via conferences and other means), colleagues, and administrators. School Involvement: Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development programs, and professional growth activities. CHARACTERISTICS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The second grade teacher should possess the following:
A commitment to Catholic Education and its values; an understanding of Assumption School’s mission and unwavering commitment to fulfill it.
Valid California Teacher Credential
3+ years of teaching experience preferred
Practicing Catholic who is comfortable preparing students for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist
An expectation that all students achieve at high academic levels.
A high level of personal integrity and professionalism.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Technical expertise
Organizational skills
