California Private Teachers is partnering with a private family in Palo Alto, CA to hire a dynamic and innovative Private Math Instructor for a well-established homeschool program beginning August 2026. This role will support three students entering 3rd, 5th, and 7th grade. The instructor will design and deliver highly individualized mathematics instruction tailored to each student’s proficiency level, with an emphasis on advancing beyond grade-level standards. This is a collaborative homeschool environment where educators are empowered to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences that foster deep conceptual understanding, confidence, and curiosity. Job Duties / Responsibilities * Design and implement individualized math curriculum for students in grades 3, 5, and 7 * Differentiate instruction for advanced and accelerated learners * Develop students’ conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and mathematical reasoning * Incorporate real-world applications and hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences * Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to ensure continued growth * Support development of executive functioning, independence, and critical thinking skills * Collaborate with parents, educators, and California Private Teachers to ensure a cohesive learning experience
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications *I Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field * Minimum of 5 years teaching experience (middle/high school preferred) * Experience designing differentiated, student-centered curriculum * Ability to provide in-person instruction in Palo Alto, CA Preferred Qualifications * Master’s degree in a related field of Mathematics, Engineering, or Science * Experience supporting advanced, gifted, and neurodivergent learners * Background in STEM, coding, or project-based learning * Experience in homeschool, microschool, or alternative education settings
