Requirements / Qualifications
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) serves as a visionary leader responsible for shaping the District’s technology strategy to advance student success and operational excellence. The CTO accelerates technological innovation, ensures secure and reliable systems, and fosters a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across the district. The CTO leads district-wide technology initiatives, aligning them with educational priorities and equity goals, while managing risk and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is accountable for improving student achievement for all students with special attention on improving student achievement of English Learners and Special Education Students; build capacity among staff, recruit, prepare, sustain and challenge all leaders to achieve higher levels of individual performance and effectiveness in leading others; plan, organize, control and direct the Information Technology services and programs of the District to provide timely delivery of high quality learning options and a variety of activities to ensure students stay in school on target to graduate; develop a vision and long-term strategic plan that guides district operations; work directly with the Superintendent to develop and lead a service-oriented department to support schools, school site leaders and instructional staff; effectively communicate with district leaders to provide constructive feedback to improve their effectiveness as they develop new leadership skills.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Five years progressively responsible experience leading Information Technology teams. Industry certifications, including but not limited to CTO leadership academies, Project Management Professional (PMP), Service Management (ITIL.) Experience in a large urban school district preferred.
Valid California driver's license.
