POSITION DESCRIPTION: Coordinates Mental Health program at Secondary Sites. Overall responsibility for ensuring the school-based mental health programs run smoothly and effectively. Co-coordinates AUSD Secondary Schools Mental Health Program. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: E = Essential Duties The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. 1. Provide mental health assessment and treatment to students and families, including crisis management and intervention, ongoing individual and family therapy, and groups E; 2. Train and supervise interns in the provision of these services E; 3. Provide consultation to school staff and parents E; 4. Participate in IEP meetings when appropriate E; 5. Assess quality of care, record all findings, maintain records E; 6. Work collaboratively with mental health coordinator and interns at other district schools E; 7. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy, or a Ph.D. in clinical counseling.

License/Registration: Possession of a Clinical Social Work License, Marriage and Family Therapist License, or Clinical Psychology License issued by the Board of Behavioral Science.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  1. The equivalent of three years of full-time, paid post-license experience with child or adolescent mental health treatment.
  2. At least one year of clinical supervisory experience
