The Sacramento City Unified School District seeks an equity-driven instructional leader to serve as Principal of Hubert H. Bancroft Elementary beginning July, 2026. Hubert H. Bancroft is a welcoming, community-centered school where strong relationships, a sense of belonging, and high expectations define the culture. The District seeks a principal who will honor the school’s traditions while guiding innovative and inclusive practices to meet the needs of all students. The ideal candidate demonstrates expertise in high-quality literacy instruction, Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and data-driven strategies that accelerate student growth. The candidate brings strong knowledge of special education, including IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring, and effectively supports multilingual learners, students with disabilities, gifted students, and those requiring differentiated academic or behavioral interventions. The principal also leverages instructional technology to expand access, engagement, and learning outcomes for all students. Serving a linguistically and culturally diverse community, the principal must be committed to culturally responsive practices and inclusive communication that ensures all families feel welcomed, informed, and respected. This includes building authentic partnerships and valuing the knowledge, experiences, and perspectives families bring to the school. The principal will foster shared leadership and collaboration by building staff capacity, promoting professional growth, and engaging staff and community members in transparent, inclusive decision-making processes. Requirements / Qualifications
TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree from an approved institution is required. Advanced degrees are preferred. A minimum of five years of certificated experience in public or private schools is required, and preference will be given for additional elementary school teaching experience, administrative, or supervisorial experience at the elementary level. Preference given to bilingual speakers, and expertise in vital programs within individual schools including, but not limited to, STEAM, Montessori, Dual Immersion, Waldorf, etc. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Hold a valid Administrative Services Credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is required.

- Credential Copy (or Document Number listed on CTC/if enrolled in an intern program or preliminary program must provide letter from program verifying enrollment and expected completion of program (for intern program, letter must state you are intern eligible))
- Letter of Introduction

- Resume (current and up-to-date)
