Job Summary

Job Summary

The Teacher of Record (ToR) will assume the responsibility of developing and supervising an individualized learning plan for their class roster of Tk-6th grade students. To ensure students are progressing according to grade level content standards, ToRs will collaborate with parents of independent study students to monitor and evaluate their performance. Additionally, ToRs will be assigned various school programs and are expected to actively contribute to fostering a positive school culture and promoting growth within the school community. This role necessitates a proactive approach, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work autonomously to meet all established deadlines. It is important to note that the ToR will be required to: Conduct meetings with students and parents at least once every 25 school days to discuss academic progress, address concerns, and develop support plans and conduct a minimum of four in-person Learning Period (LP) meetings as assigned. This requirement emphasizes the importance of face-to-face interaction to establish strong relationships and effective communication with new and returning families. There are a few required in-person staff meetings each year. We reimburse for mileage. We post in all of the counties where we serve students. There is no reason to apply more than once. Applicants MUST reside within Orange, San Diego, Los Angeles, Riverside, or San Bernardino counties to be considered. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university A valid, current, and appropriate Clear California state teaching credential and authorization to teach English learners Two (2) years of education experience Classroom experience welcome. Charter School or Independent Study experience preferred. Bilingual skills are a plus; TK Certification is preferred. If hired and not TK-certified, the applicant will be required to complete up to 12 units of TK courses within 1 year of employment. (Depending on review of transcripts) Upon offer: Hold and maintain a valid California Driver’s License; proof of automobile insurance; and full time use of a dependable automobile that is insured pursuant to California regulations State and federal background clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Education Code Section 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and Human Resources notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance Proof of a clear TB test dated within the last 60 days (Education Code Section 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years
