Job Summary
Description: JSerra Catholic High School’s Science Department is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physical Science Teacher. The ideal candidate is passionate about science education and enjoys working with high school students in a collaborative and mission-driven academic environment. This role includes teaching courses in physical science or related disciplines at conceptual, college preparatory, honors, or advanced levels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, enthusiasm for engaging students in scientific inquiry, and the ability to integrate faith and reason within the study of science. Responsibilities • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with departmental curriculum goals • Assess, record, and maintain student progress through the school’s online grading platform, Schoology • Provide written assessments, reports, and references related to student progress • Collaborate with the Department Chair, Vice Principal of Academics, and fellow faculty in developing curriculum, teaching materials, and assessment strategies • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school training opportunities • Supervise students outside the classroom as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Strong interpersonal skills, including writing, speaking, and presenting • Ability to develop and implement effective science curriculum at the secondary level • Familiarity with laboratory safety and the use of modern scientific equipment • Ability to design and implement laboratory experiences that reinforce concepts • Familiarity with school software systems and instructional technology, including Schoology, preferred Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required • Single-subject teaching credential or master’s degree preferred • Three or more years of secondary classroom teaching experience preferred
