Job Summary

Hours per day: 2- 2 1/2 hrs Days per week : 5 days per week Effective start date : March 30th, 2026 Season date: June 8th 2026- May 1st, 2027 Effective end date: June 4th, 2027 Specific duties include but are not limited to: Serve as the Head Coach of the Cheer and Dance program. Develop a positive team culture and provide clear direction and vision for the MHS Cheer and Dance programs. Develop individual and team skill sets, techniques, and strategies necessary for overall team/program success. Create and communicate a team/program vision, strategy; provide instruction to student-athletes in the consistent execution of that strategy. Plan for all school and community events, competitions, including preparation and post-competition review. Establish and oversee an off-season strength weight training, conditioning, endurance, and agility enhancement program. Collaborate with MHS Athletic Administration to select and supervise qualified assistant coaches. Ensure that all rules and regulations regarding conduct, safety, and eligibility are communicated and followed. Communicate effectively and build positive working relationships with student-athletes, parents/guardians, the athletic department, administration, teachers, other coaches, officials, and opponents. Maintain all required coaching certifications and district-mandated training. Complete all required forms, reports, and documentation in a timely manner. Uphold and enforce all CIF, league, district, and school policies.

Requirements / Qualifications

Prior coaching experience in sideline cheer and dance, competition cheer/dance, competitive stunt cheer (high school or collegiate level preferred). Knowledge of National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and CIF Cheer and general regulations. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse student populations. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
