2025 FMSD Summer School. We are hiring for TK, Kinder, 1st, and 2nd grade Teachers. The Franklin-McKinley School District will be providing an in-person summer school program for students in grades K-8 with a focus on Literacy, Math, SEL and STEAM. Summer school will run from Monday, June 23rd - Monday, July 21st with professional development on June 17th-18th and no school on Friday, July 4th. Please note that ESY will run from Monday, June 23rd - Tuesday, July 22nd, with no school on Friday, July 4th. The sites for summer school include: CCA (7-8th grade CSI 1 and 2, and 1 math class, CORAL) Dahl (TK - 2 FMSD, 3-6 Elevate, CORAL) Shirakawa (TK-2 FMSD, 3-6 Elevate, Breakthrough, CORAL) Franklin (ESY) For FMSD instruction, teachers will provide Literacy and Math instruction through the lens of STEAM. District teams will provide curriculum materials and support to implement these programs and focus. Teachers will also provide social emotional learning in collaboration with guidance from staff social workers. Teachers will work 5 hours a day from 8am-1pm, Monday through Friday (teaching 8:30--12:30, plus 30 minutes planning at the beginning and end of the day). Teachers are expected to attend district professional development from 8:30-3:30 pm on Wednesday, June 17th and site meetings/professional development on Thursday, June 18th. FMSD Teachers teaching TK-2nd will be paid a stipend of $5,800 via memo based on the $52/hour rate (no P-30s). Teachers working for the Elevate Math or CSI program should see the job description links below for more details. Any days a substitute is used will have that substitute rate subtracted from the total stipend amount.

Applicants must hold a valid CA-Multiple subject credential for TK a Early learning authorization is required. Please make sure to indicate on your application what grade level you preferred to teach. We are opening applications for grades TK - 2nd grade.
