Job Summary

Job Summary

Elementary Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) teachers will inspire creativity and foster a love for the arts across the district. This position rotates among school sites, providing students with hands-on visual and performing arts lessons. This position will work with varied grade levels and different school sites on a rotational basis over the course of the year. Expertise in one of these areas with a willingness to expand skills is useful.

Required: - Demonstrate experience in one or more of the following: music education, theatre production, dance instruction, or visual arts. - Ability to teach foundational skills across multiple art forms. - Excellent organizational skills across multiple art forms. Preferred: - Background in basic music theory and experience playing one or more musical instruments or vocal training (formal or informal). - Background in directing or producing school musicals or performances. - Experience working in multiple school environments or with district-level programs. - Proficiency in integrating technology and multimedia in arts instruction. Maximum number of years of teaching experience while holding a valid teaching credential outside the Beaumont Unified School District granted is fifteen (15) years.
